The Spring of 2013 will forever remain in our hearts
as the beginning of a new chapter – the chapter of stained glass.
Inspiring, colorful, radiant, and grand in scale – our very first commission to create a stained glass piece with a marine-themed design swept us away completely and gave us the confidence that we were on the right path.
The project was part of the interior design of
the conference hall in the “Chernomorski” complex in Kamchia, conceived by architect Buzhev and the Hatch architectural studio. It was a great honor and joy for us to be chosen for this project – a 7.5-square-meter stained glass installation dedicated entirely to the magic of the sea. 🌊
We already had experience working with glass, but this project
posed an entirely new challenge – not only technically, but also spatially. Our entire home literally turned into an art studio. In April and May, we carefully carried nine massive sheets of glass into our small artistic living room, arranged them side by side, and created a miniature world where waves flowed and the sun shone at the center of the composition. ☀️
We worked for weeks, surrounded
by paints, light, and inspiration. Every morning began with coffee and a short walk between the panels to observe the colors under different lighting conditions. And we had one not-so-small assistant who never failed to join in – our cat Moris. 🐾 Every time we laid out the model on the floor, Moris would find the most symbolically important spot – the sun – and curl up right in its center, as if to remind us that everything begins with light.
This stained glass window did more than simply adorn a
conference hall – it laid the foundation for a new passion in our creative journey. From that moment on, stained glass became an inseparable part of our work – in various forms and techniques, in small windows, decorative panels, painted glass artworks, and clocks.
Today, 12 years later,
we look back with deep gratitude at that very first major project – not only as a physical result but as a symbolic message from the Universe, which seemed to whisper:
“You are exactly where you’re meant to be.”
